Alessandro Trivellini

University of Applied Sciences & Arts of Southern Switzerland

Alessandro Trivellini is a lecturer and researcher with a strong background in technology, particularly in software engineering, digital forensics, and cybersecurity. Since 2003, he has been teaching and conducting research at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI), where he also established and directed the Digital Forensics Service (SIF) of the Department of Innovative Technologies in 2011.

This strategic Service originated from a collaboration with the Judiciary of the Canton of Ticino, and later extended its scope by partnering with the Swiss Criminal Court in 2019.

He is delighted to report that today the SUPSI’s Digital Forensic Service has grown into a scientific research group of 9 members, active in Switzerland in the field of Digital forensics and cybersecurity, with competitive projects funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) and by the Swiss Innovation Agency (Innosuisse).

Besides his academic work he has also gained professional experience as a software engineer in the Silicon Valley (Newark, California) for InVision Technologies Inc, a leading company in developing X-Ray systems for bomb detection.

Alessandro Trivellini obtained his PhD with summa cum laude in 2016 in computer science - AI/NLP - from the Politecnico di Milano, Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering (DEIB), Italy.
